Cookie policy
This page lists every cookie QuidBuys sets, what it is for and how long it lasts. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
What a cookie is
A small file a website asks your browser to keep, and sends back on your next request. It is how a site remembers that the thing you put in a basket two pages ago is still yours.
Strictly necessary
These run without asking, because the shop does not work without them. They hold your basket, protect forms against cross-site submission, and record your cookie choice itself.
| Cookie | Category | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID | Strictly necessary | Holds your basket between pages. | End of session |
qb_cart_count | Strictly necessary | Number of items in the basket, so the header badge can be shown without disabling our page cache. | 30 days |
_csrf | Strictly necessary | Security token that stops a third-party site submitting forms as you. | End of session |
qb_consent | Strictly necessary | Records this choice, so we do not ask again. | 6 months |
qb_admin | Strictly necessary | Set only for staff signed into the admin area. | End of session |
Analytics
Off until you turn them on. They would measure which pages get used and where people give up, in aggregate. This is a demonstration store and no analytics provider is actually connected: granting this category fires a placeholder tag that writes to the browser console and nothing else.
Marketing
Off until you turn them on. They would measure whether an advert led to a visit and avoid showing you the same one repeatedly. As above, nothing real is connected here.
How to change your mind
Use Cookie settings at the foot of any page. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings, which will make us ask again on your next visit.
Cookies we do not set
No third-party advertising cookies, no social embeds, no session recording, no fingerprinting. The site loads no scripts, fonts or images from any other domain.
